Ich setze in meinen Programmen MadExcept ein. MadExcept ist eine Erweiterung für die Programmiersprache Delphi, die eine sehr nützliche Eigenschaft für mich als Programmierer hat. Sollte ein Programm abstürzen, so präsentiert dieses Modul dem Anwender einen Absturzbericht, den er mir zusenden kann. Dort ist die genaue Fehlerursache z.B. ein mathematischer Überlauf, Zugriff auf eine gesperrte Datei etc. vermerkt und die Zeile in der der Fehler vorkommt. Dieser Report kann gespeichert oder per Email versendet werden. Das erlaubt es mir den Fehler genau einzugrenzen und meine Programme zu verbessern.
Damit dies möglich ist, muss dieses Modul tief ins System eingreifen und das alleine macht dann alle Programme, welche dieses Modul verwenden, verdächtig und einige Virenscanner melden dies dann als Virus.
Das Problem das meine Programme so Fehlalarme auslösen ist nicht neu, es existiert seit mindestens 2009 und taucht immer wieder auf. Immer dann, wenn ein Hersteller seine Signaturen aktualisiert, kommt, es zu Fehlalarmen, die dann meistens beim nächsten Update wieder verschwinden (ich bin ja nicht der Einzige, der die Software einsetzt, so bekommt der AV-Hersteller bald Rückmeldungen) und es ist nicht systematisch, das heißt, es kann im Prinzip jeden Virenscanner treffen.
Nun sie müssen mir nicht glauben. Sie können ein Programm von mir nicht nur durch ihren auf dem PC installierten Virenscanner, sondern viele testen lassen. Gehen sie dazu auf Virustotal.com und laden sie dort das ausführbare Programm (mit der Dateiendung .exe) hoch. Wenn nur einer oder zwei von derzeit (6/2021) 69 Virenscannern die Datei für gefährlich hält, ist es ein Fehlalarm.
Wenn sie wollen, können sie mir eine Email bl@bernd-leitenberger.de. schicken und ich sende ihnen eine Version des Programmes ohne das Modul. Das dürfte dann kein Problem für den Vienscanner sein. Sie verzichten dann natürlich auf eine Möglichkeit, ihnen bei Problemen zu helfen.
Eine allgemeine Lösung, die ich einsetze, weil ich natürlich dauernd Programme mit dem Modul erstelle und nicht selbst vom Virenscanner genervt werden will (ich selbst setze übrigens auf den in Windows integrierten Schutz also Defender) ist, dass ich alle meine Programme in ein spezielles Verzeichnis kompiliere und dieses und seine Unterverzeichnisse vom Virenscan ausgenommen habe. Analog können sie Programme, die sie herunterladen und die keinen Installer haben, wie es eben meine sind, aber auch viele andere von Autoren, die nur ein Programm veröffentlichen wollen und nicht jedes Mal einen Installprozess mit seinen Dateileichen durchlaufen wollen, ablegen. Bei allen Programmen mit Installer werden diese ja vom Installer in die vorgesehenen Verzeichnisse installiert.
Insgesamt macht Windows es einfachen Programmierern, die nicht mit ihren Programmen Geld verdienen wollen immer schwerer. So gibt es heute schon beim Download im Browser (also bevor man das Programm überhaupt auf dem PC hat) eine Warnung, die man meistens nicht mehr einfach wegklicken kann, sondern mehrfach über ganz klein beschriftete Alternativauswahlen "Trotzdem fortfahren und xxx.exe trotz Warnung downloaden" explizit bestätigen muss. Für den offiziellen Weg, diese Warnung nicht zu bekommen ist es, jedes Programm von Microsoft prüfen zu lassen. Dazu fehlt mir zum einen das Geld zum anderen verhindert das auch eine schnelle Reaktion auf aufgetretene Probleme oder Eingehen auf Wünsche von Anwendern, da man bei jeder noch so kleinen Änderung das Programm neu einreichen muss.

I use the Software MadExcept in my programs. MadExcept is an extension for the Delphi programming language, that has a very useful feature for me as a programmer. If a program crashes, this module presents a crash report to the user, which can be send to me. In the report you find the exact cause of the error e.g. a mathematical overflow, access to a locked file etc. and the line in which the error occurs. This report can be saved or sent by email. This allows me to narrow down the error exactly and improve my programs.
To do this, this module must interact deeply with the system and this alone makes all programs that use this
module suspicious and some virus scanners then report this as a virus.
The problem that my programs trigger such false alarms is not new, it exists at least since 2009 and appears again
and again. Whenever a vendor of AV Software updates its signatures, false positives occur, which usually disappear
with the next update (I'm not the only one using the software, so the AV vendor soon gets a feedback) and it's not
systematic, which means it can basically hit any virus scanner.
Well you don't have to take my word for it. You can test a program by me not only by your virus scanner installed on your PC, but many Scanners. Go to Virustotal.com and upload the executable program (with the file extension .exe). If only one or two of currently (6/2021) 69 virus scanners consider the file dangerous, it is a false positive.
If you want, you can send me an email bl@bernd-leitenberger.de. and I will send you a version of the program without the module. This should then not a problem for the Vienscanner. Of course, then you give up a way, to help you when problems occur.
A general solution which I use, because I create programs with the module all the time and don't want to be annoyed by the virus scanner (I use the integrated protection in Windows, Microsoft Defender) is, that I compile all my programs into a special directory and exclude this directory and its subfolders from the virus scan. Similarly, they can put programs you download and that do not have an installer, as mine programs, but also many others from authors, who want to publish only the program and do not want to go through an installation process every time they make a change. All programs with Installer install the components in the System Path for programs, so you have no choice to change the folder.
Overall, Windows makes it more and more difficult for simple programmers who do not want to earn money with their programs. So there is today before the Download in the Browser starts (thus before one has the program at all on the PC) a warning, which one cannot click away. You have to confirm at least twice with completely small labeled alternative selections "nevertheless continue and download xxx.exe despite warning" . The official way not to get this warning, is to check every program by Microsoft. On the one hand, I don't have the money for this, on the other hand, this also prevents a quick reaction to problems that occur or responding to user requests, since you have to resubmit the program for every change, no matter how small it is.
